Lordington House - Bed & Breakfast in Sussex
Lordington, Chichester, PO18 9DX, Sussex
England,
Royaume-Uni
Slip between two stone pillars that appear to lean slightly outwards to allow you in. Emerge onto pea gravel in front of this truly beautiful house with lovely views from every window. Find Edwardian beds with proper bedspreads, Sixties-style bathrooms, shepherdess wallpapers, log fires and a panelled drawing room. Bring your woolly jumper though!
Breakfasts include local bacon and sausages, eggs from the owners' hens. Suppers for late arrivals can also be organised with a bit of notice. Wander the wonderful gardens; neatly sculpted golden yew and tall pines strike a contemporary note, hedges and lawn live at the rear, beside huge old stone walls. Long borders bloom with aromatic shrubs, interspersed with pelargoniums, lilies and anemones.
Walks are from the door and The Barley Mow at Walderton, a cosy pub with log fires and a beer garden is just one mile away. You're near to Kingley Vale Nature Reserve for deer watching.
