Two lovely spaces in a quiet riverside hamlet with pretty interiors, plenty of art, lots of leafy countryside, gardens and pool

A well-converted 18th-century pépiniériste's house and a little cottage with impressive views over the Dordogne river. In both you'll find a blend of traditional and contemporary furniture and lots of art (Kit is an art dealer) which changes regularly as pieces are sold and replaced. In the house the big wooden table is perfect for family meals, cooking is easy in the modern kitchens and bedrooms have colourful paintings.

At the house there's a wonderful spot in the garden for outdoor meals; in the cottage there's a courtyard if you want to eat separately. This is serious food market territory so bring all your spoils back and cook up a storm for everybody, matched with delicious local wines. The garden (separate from the cottage) is gravelled with a trickling water feature; on warm days you can chill out on the rooftop sundeck, float in the pool, wild swim in the river.

Perfect for big family holidays or groups of friends.
