Absolute Paris, 300-year-old timbers, crazy wonky stairs and modern comforts, a warm welcome, little streets and friendly markets: it’s a real privilege to stay here. For breakfast there’s homemade jams and honey (from Jean-Luc’s hives in the Périgord), croissants, fresh bread, juice and hot coffee and tea in the rambling, warm living room upstairs.

Rooms are characterful and rustic, full of quirk with a mix of antique woodwork and modern prints, high ceilings and whitewashed walls or exposed stones and beams. Both have private access, independent from your hosts, on the first floor. Simplicity, panache and personality, attention and service: these are the hallmarks.

No communal space, but a lovely peaceful courtyard and only a 20-minute walk to the Seine. Skim stones along the iconic Canal Saint Martin; sip an espresso on the historic Places des Vosges (both 11-minute walks), Paris’ first planned square.

Guest feedback
"We stayed at Jean Luc's bed and breakfast in the Marais for three nights in early November 2014. Jean Luc was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. The room was comfortable, nicely furnished and quiet. The Marais is a great place to stay in Paris, with lots of things to do there, including visiting the newly re-opened Picasso Museum. And we ate well at local restaurants, all on Jean Luc's recommendations. In short, we cannot recommend Bonne Nuit Paris highly enough."
