Borgo della Spiga - Bed & Breakfast in Marche
Loc. Saltregna, 30, 62011 Cingoli, Macerata
Marche,
Italie
Revel in the silence here, where 360 degree views from the hilltop take in a patchwork of sunflower fields and cereal crops. The beautifully-designed pool has the best vantage point; guests love the pergola in the neatly kept gardens too, where olive trees, bougainvillea and herbs are planted. At the 'borgo', traditional stone exteriors conceal minimalist contemporary interiors, with doubles up on the first floor and the suite in a separate building. Immaculate rooms and discreet hospitality are most definitely on offer. Hosts Andrea and Deborah, originally from Milan, love to get all the details right but will never intrude. They relish baking bread and cakes for breakfasts, and Andrea may also whip up creative light lunches and occasional dinners on request. Sustainable technology is high on the agenda, so rainwater is collected for irrigation and photovoltaic panels convert Italian sun into electricity. From here, history and art lovers might flock to the old Marches towns or the pilgrims' spiritual centre in Loreto, whilst explorers head for the Frasassi caves and Gola della Rossa nature reserve.
