Come here for the pinot, stay for the easy-going charm. A jumble of old buildings – one dating back over 200 years, the others from the late 19th century – gathers around an open courtyard on the edge of the village. Eleven spacious bedrooms, all air conditioned, all en suite, have good beds and plenty of light.

There’s a cosy sitting room for rainy afternoons and, best of all, an original wine cellar where you can settle in for tastings of some seriously good local bottles. Outside, the vineyards roll away towards the horizon and the pool is made for hot Burgundy afternoons.

Breakfast is a generous spread, best enjoyed beside the pool overlooking the vineyards. Come evening, dinner can be arranged with a local chef (for groups of six or more) or you can order cold cuts and cheese, open another bottle and settle in. In between, there’s yoga and meditation, massages and even a personal trainer on request.

"What a fantastic relaxing hotel- b&b ! The rooms and facility are amazing .... unique, completed to a very high spec. And very clean . The hosts are very welcoming and professional. A beautiful setting and ideal for a relaxing stay. . The local village has some great eating ..... from simple to gastronomic! The location is perfect to travel to and from the local chateaus and vinards literally on the doorstep. We will certainly visit again an ideal stop off travelling from or to the uk . 4.5 hours from Calais . The food and wine magnificent and topped by wonderful artwork "

"A very welcoming atmosphere as soon as we arrived. The owners have created somewhere very special with a relaxed style but with attention to detail. The breakfast was delicious with a huge range of local produce , including a freshly prepared fruit juice to ones own specification. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated."
