This Victorian cottage, next to Lady Rothschild Dairy, was once the home of the cowman. It's cosy, comfortable and neat as a pin with colourful fabrics, thick cushions and crisp linen on the beds. Escape with a book to the library or one of the shepherd's huts on the Woodland Walk, bring binoculars and watch the many birds or a yoga mat for a bit of peace of quiet. Children will adore the big lawn for games and tumbles.
The kitchen is compact but you'll find fresh eggs from the farm and dry cured bacon and sausages from Seven Wells Butcher in Oundle, so your first breakfast is sorted. If you don't feel like cooking there's a good pub in the village (2 miles) The Chequered Skipper or The Platter Company can deliver charcuterie, cheeses and puddings.
Deep woodland surrounds you for forest bathing and den building and the skies are truly dark. Lovely to wander over to the barbecue area on a summer eve with a pint or glass of wine.
