A very special place to stay, where the emphasis has been on cherishing its unique character and making any changes as sustainably as possible. There's plenty of space in the sitting room to unfurl on three sofas, with loads of books, a piano and a very pretty fireplace (coal and logs provided) so even if the weather is foul you'll feel happy hunkering down in here. Deep windowsills face south overlooking the Lanherne valley, there's a desk for writing and plenty of original art to inspire.
The kitchen has a hatch to the dining room and a handy walk-in larder. The fridge and freezer are out the back in a covered corridor where you'll also find an outdoor shower for sandy wetsuits, a drying line and another loo. The garden, with wooden deck, has long views over the valley and to the sea. This is a good spot for a barbecue as the stars come out.
Join the coastal path in either direction for grassy headlands and hidden coves.
