The Bell Tower - Self-catering apartment in Cornwall
Penzance, TR20 9JB, Cornwall
England,
Regno Unito
The elevated position, the huge arched windows and the views make the space seem bigger than it actually is. It's a very calming space with beautifully curated interiors, lots of books to read (including Du Maurier's novels), a turntable with records and games to play – rainy days won't need to be miserable. Find a cream tea waiting in the spruce kitchen with Leach Pottery plates and cups, a posh coffee machine and all the basics for cooking in the cupboards.
The softly coloured bedroom has a big, well-dressed bed and a window looking into the sitting room – leave the door open and plenty of light will flood in – and the gorgeous bathroom is scented with Pure Nuff Stuff. It's a romantic hideaway for lovers of good design.
Head out to one of Cornwall's most vibrant, creative communities – an eco-minded hub full of art and culture, independent shops and galleries, amazing places to eat and the fabulous coastline.

Local points of interest from Christen Pears:
Punti d'interesse locali da
Christen Pears:
- Enjoy a dip at the spectacular arc-deco Jubilee Pool or in the Abbey Basin, a popular swimming spot which is directly below the flat.
- Explore Penzance with its growing number of independent shops, restaurants and bars. The Bell Tower is tucked away behind historic Chapel Street which is home to some of the town's oldest pubs.
- Penlee House Gallery and Museum is home to a wonderful collection of works by members of the Newlyn and Lamorna Schools of art as well a museum exploring the history of West Cornwall from prehistoric times to the 20th century..
- Put on your walking boots and get out and about on the South West Coast Path. Some of our favourite walks include Prussia Cove tp Perranuthnoe and the spectacular route between Zenor and The Gurnard's Head.
- Take the train to the bustling former fishing town of St Ives, now an artistic hub and home to an offshoot of the Tate Gallery and the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden. Don't miss the Leach Pottery on the outskirts of town.
- Take in a play at The Minack Theatre, carved out of the rocks above the ocean. Nearby Porthcurno is one of the loveliest beaches in Cornwall. Porthcurno was once the hub of the global telegraph network and there's an excellent museum about its history.
