Step inside to where the copper-topped bar gleams and the fire leaps in the old stone fireplace. Perch on an upcycled milk churn to down a pint of local ale and choose from a superb menu with fresh fish and seafood delivered overnight from Cornwall. Spend relaxed sunny evenings dining in the orangery.
Bedrooms, some up, some down, have padded headboards, plump cushions, gleaming linens, hi-tech touches and a warm glow from clever lighting. Bathrooms sparkle and have attractive stone basins. Breakfast will set you up for a day of exploring the Dales. Sausages and bacon are from Derbyshire, hash browns are homemade, you can tuck into kippers with poached eggs or The Cow fishcake.
