A joyful, inviting house on a 15 acre smallholding in Devon. Super food, gracious hosts, delightful bedrooms - leave feeling nourished

Inspired by time spent in Italy, chef Hugo and artist Olive set up their own agriturismo right here in Devon. Check out the polytunnel, chickens and pigs - they're passionate about food. Bread is baked daily, they make their own charcuterie and pickles, nothing is wasted. Choose from simple suppers or a four-course seasonal set menu. Breakfast, served at big, sociable tables, is a special affair too.

This bright, eclectic house has five bedrooms, plus one in a separate annexe and another in a cabin with a private terrace (both dog-friendly). All are warm and colourful. Settle down in front of the fire in one of the sitting rooms after a jaunt around the countryside (ask if you'd like a picnic), browse the 'Walk Book' in your room for ideas, or stroll through the valley to The Kingfisher in Colyton for lunch.

Heaps to do here: knock some balls around the tennis court, dip in the heated outdoor pool (open April-September), head down to the Jurassic Coast for fossil hunting and beaches.

"Emma and Chuck made us feel very welcome in their beautiful house. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They looked after our Golden Retriever on two days so that we could go walking. ( He has a pulled muscle in his leg and has to rest ). The house is in a very peaceful location and the views are out of this world. The breakfasts were delicious with wonderfully prepared fresh fruit, cereals and yogurt to start and then beautifully cooked full English breakfasts. I cannot recommend Glebe House enough. We had a wonderful holiday."

"Emma and Chuck are excellent hosts and the breakfasts superb. I would stay again and recommend this B&B unhesitatingly. The only gripe - towels stayed wet since there was no working towel rail."

"We stayed to days and nights in Glebe House with Emma and Chuck Guest. The house is situated on a hilltop with a marvelous, almost breathtaking view. The family room on the first floor is very light and comfortable and has a splendid view over Southleigh Valley. The other rooms in the house are also very nice and the heated swimming pool in the garden was a hit for our children. Emma and Chuck are very nice, warm and friendly people, breakfast is good, and Glebe House is a very recommendable place to stay with your family."

"We had the most amazing time at Glebe House. Emma and Chuck are the most fantastic hosts and we were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Most welcome tea was served on arrival with delicious cake, the rooms were wonderfully comfortable, and the views were amazing. Dinner cooked by Emma on Friday night was really delicious, and very deftly served by Chuck. We had drinks and canapes in the drawing room and all was delicious. Breakfast each morning was such a treat, the best poached eggs I have ever had. We were show all the local walks. Our hosts shared local knowledge. Fantasti"

"We had such a wonderful 2 nights at Glebe House and will definitely be returning again soon. Our 3 children were made so welcome and allowed to explore and make use of all the facilities and felt very at home here. The view is stunning, the room beautiful and very comfortable and the warm welcome and kind hospitality of the Guests made our stay. It was fantastic to stay somewhere so beautiful yet welcoming to us all as a family. We are eager to return soon for another few days away from home and to explore more of the enchanting costal villages nearby. We highly recommend Glebe House"

"A beautifully positioned B&B in the Devon countryside with a panoramic (literally) view of the valley from the breakfast room. We had a lovely weekend stay whilst house and school hunting, in a comfortable family room. Fabulous breakfast and very friendly and knowledgable hosts. Peaceful and quiet location. What more could you want?? Highly recommended."

"Just returned from one night at Glebe House where I last stayed about 2 years ago. Lovely warm welcome, superb views, delicious breakfast but they seem to have changed the beds for a less comfortable model!"

"I would thoroughly endorse the full description of Glebe House. We were a mother and daughter (89 and 53) and rather naughty small dog. We were all made extremely welcome in this beautiful setting. A perfect place to recharge batteries and explore the local area."
