Kiftsgate Court - Self-catering house in Gloucestershire
Kiftsgate Court, Mickleton, GL55 6LN, Gloucestershire
England,
Regno Unito
The garden is incredibly romantic: no hard lines, just soft flowing curves, banks of bluebells in spring, rare plants and mature trees, a sunken white garden and many roses, including the famous Kiftsgate Rose. In May and June the scents will be delicious and you have the place all to yourselves when the visitors go home. Right at the bottom you'll discover a cold water pool which the brave can swim in.
Sleep comfortably in large, traditional bedrooms with high ceilings, huge windows, a serene atmosphere and views of the garden; bedrooms (four en suite, three sharing a bathroom) are traditional and spacious. Light the fire in the drawing room or sitting room, play the grand piano, choose a book from many shelves, play tennis, cook in the big kitchen with its walk-in larder. Find fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and maybe something baked.
Visit the tea shop, buy plants or walk (one hour) to a good pub, The Ebrington Arms.

Local points of interest from Rob Chambers:
Punti d'interesse locali da

- There are some excellent walks to local pubs in the area. The nearest is a walk down the hill into Mickleton to the Kings Arms and if you are looking for a longer walk you can go over the hill to the Ebrington Arms and also to The Howard Arms in Ilmington.
- In Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, you can rent a rowing boat and meander along the river Avon or if you prefer dry land the Butterfly Farm is a tropical experience with a world class selection of the beautiful flying insects.
- The Michelin starred Salt on Church St in Stratford is perfect for food lovers. Other local gastronomic highlights include The Bower House in Shipston-on-Stour, the Michelin starred Royal Oak at Whatcote, and The Churchill Arms in Paxford.
- Broadway is a beautiful town with a number of interesting sites including Broadway tower which sits a short (but steep) walk from the centre and from which you can take in fantastic views over the countryside while enjoying a drink and snack from the café.
- There are 2 Capability Brown landscaped estates nearby - Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, is a spectacular place to explore. Killingworth Castle is run by Claire and Jim, or head to Compton Verney for its beautiful parkland.
- Chipping Campden is a beautiful nearby town with a number of pubs and restaurants including the Eight Bells Inn and Michael’s Mediterranean. If the sun’s out drop into the Ernest Wilson Memorial Garden or Covent Garden Academy of Flowers for a workshop.
