The Alms House West at Forthampton Estate - Self-catering in Gloucestershire
31 Church Ln, Forthampton, GL19 4QW, Gloucestershire
England,
Regno Unito
Designed by William Burges, one of the great architects of the Arts and Crafts movement, this handsome Victorian cottage is full of history and character. It’s been in the same family for nine generations, and you can feel that care and continuity the moment you arrive. Antique pieces, family artwork and thoughtful touches make it feel warm and welcoming.
You’ve got everything you need for an easy stay. The neat kitchen is small but well-equipped, and the cosy sitting room has a wood-burner, TV, books and games for quiet evenings in. Upstairs, two pretty bedrooms under the eaves – one double, one that can be made up as a twin or king – have lovely views over the Cotswolds and the Severn Vale. There’s a shared bathroom downstairs with underfloor heating.
Outside, all is quiet, the peace only broken by birdsong and the occasional peal of church bells. Footpaths from the garden lead straight into open fields.
