The house is set on three floors with a huge bay window overlooking the pedestrianised road and once belonged to the Harbour Master, so you're right in the thick of things. A comfortable sitting room with a brick fireplace has some books and plants and a dining area with table for 10 overlooks the street. The kitchen is galley style and small, so not for sociable cooks, but it has all the kit you need and the basics for cooking plus wine and chocolates.
Three double bedrooms on the first floor have wooden floors with rugs, pretty furniture and share a bathroom with shower. Up to the top floor for two more bedrooms with a shower room. All have good mattresses and crisp cotton bedding. The outdoor space at the back is more of a yard than a garden but at a pinch you could rustle up a barbecue.
Mostly you'll be out in the town, walking and cycling in the New Forest, or heading for lovely days out sailing or at the beach. For yachting enthusiasts, having your boat at Town Quay just a 50 yard walk from the house is a real treat.
