Charmingly rambling, inside and out: blazing fires, riotous patterns, oak panelling, a prolific garden and comfortable antique beds

The Phillips family has been at the helm for many years now. As for the inn, having begun its life in the 14th century, it rambles charmingly inside as well as out. Enter a world of blazing log fires, soft brick walls, oak panelling and quarry-tiled floors. Dried flowers hang from beams, herbs sit in vases, and blackboards trumpet good food made from scratch in the kitchen – an à la carte menu, pub classics, pub tapas and daily specials.

Colourful, floral bedrooms are upstairs. Just go easy on the ale before you open the door: some have swings hanging from the oak beams. Lounge on antique beds – large, comfortable and wrapped in lavender-scented sheets. Wander out to the beautiful gardens with a pint from the Three Tuns Brewery – admire Henry's herbs, hundreds of spring bulbs and glorious herbaceous borders.

Enjoy endless lovely walks through some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK, return to much comfort and jolly good food.

Guest feedback
"Visiting our son and his family in nearby Bridgnorth we had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. The food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly. The Covid precautions were reassuring, masks, sanitiser and a good one way system. The icing on the cake was a visit to their lovely rescue donkey Pegasus!"
