Inside all is warm and comfortable. A big sunny drawing room has an open wood fire, plenty of space for all, books, TV and games if you're stuck indoors and a lovely dining room for sociable meals. You'll find fresh flowers in season from the estate garden, good art on the walls and wonderful views through original windows to the rolling countryside.
Bedrooms are upstairs, softly carpeted and with goose down duvets and pillows, crisp cotton, warm throws and plenty of hanging space. The twin has particularly splendid views over the hills. An east-facing patio with table and chairs is a grand spot for a morning cuppa, there's a lawn big enough to sprawl on and some handsome mature trees if you need some shade.
Head to the Peak District for challenging hikes, climb Kinder Scout for spectacular views, or stroll gentler routes along disused railway lines. Return to much comfort, a well-equipped kitchen and a barbecue in summer.
