Minsmere RSPB, medieval castles and the glorious Heritage coast are close by. The evening sun pours into the back of this contemporary cottage with butter yellow walls; you are on the edge of the village so all is quiet with an orchard behind and a bird-filled garden for tea and cake. No sitting room, but easy chairs in your good-sized, very pretty bedroom face views of the cherry tree. Caroline is a good cook and breakfast is tasty (try her kedgeree and homemade jams). Snape Maltings for music lovers, Southwold for the famous pier, Aldeburgh with its shingle beach, boats, fun shops and famous fish and chips, Minsmere RSPB reserve for birdwatching and Orford Ness for nature conservation - all are nearby.
