The Merry Harriers - Inn in Surrey
Hambledon Road, Hambledon, GU8 4DR, Surrey
England,
Regno Unito
Step into the bar for a crackling fire, beams and timbered walls, scrubbed tables topped with church candles and pots of fresh flowers – the atmosphere is cosy and friendly so expect to see dogs dozing by the fire and locals chatting over pints of Hogs Back. There's a separate record room with vinyl you can play, a lovely dining room and a flower-filled west-facing garden with three terraces for super sundowners.
Bedrooms are split between the main building, rather more compact garden rooms and swish shepherd's huts overlooking a pond. All are en suite and have fresh flowers, books, Roberts radios and Nemi Teas. Wake to a scrumptious breakfast of homemade muesli, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs or mushrooms on toast, a full English.
Footpaths surround you for fabulous walks in surprisingly unspoilt countryside. Return to your cosy base to check out the menu – delicious dishes with much produce from the family farm four miles away.

- First up we’d have to recommend our own llama treks which you can join just a few short steps from your accommodation! Our herd of twelve merry llamas will guide you along the stunning local trails for picnicking and trekking with a definite difference!
- In the heart of The Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty we are surrounded by some of the best walking, running and cycling routes in the South of England. Grab a map at the bar and choose your route!
- For those who prefer pavement to trails the market towns of Haslemere, Farnham, Guildford and Petworth each offer their own charm, character and history with quaint streets, historic buildings and plenty of interesting shops and antiques to browse.
- If you like your flora and fauna you’ll love a visit to both Ramster Gardens and The Winkworth Arboretum, famous for their rare and unusual trees and shrubs. A little further afield is RHS Garden Wisley, the flagship garden of the RHS.
- For a glimpse into England’s rural past step back in time at Oakhurst Cottage, a restored 16th century labourers dwelling just a mile away. Rather more palatial is Petworth House home to the finest art collection in the care of the National Trust.
- And there’s plenty of nearby entertainment with motoring and horse-racing at Goodwood, polo at Cowdray Park, spectacular flying displays at The Farnborough Airshow, The Guildford Book Festival and open-air summer concerts at Petworth.
