19 Glenmore Road - Bed & Breakfast in Wiltshire
Salisbury, SP1 3HF, Wiltshire
England,
Regno Unito
This house feels like a country oasis but is only a mile from the centre of Salisbury. You have the use of your own sunny yellow sitting room with lots of bookshelves to browse or can sit out in the good-sized shaded garden, which is filled with bluebells in spring.
Tim and Biddy are warm and engaging and very attentive to their guests. Breakfast includes home-made muesli, breads and jam, fresh berries, poached fruit and local honey with the usual bacon and eggs - the latter sourced from the hens in the garden. A thermal jug of fresh milk is left at your door in the evening so you can make a fresh cup of tea in your room.
Salisbury is a brisk 25-minute walk downhill and has a diverse range of restaurants - ask for advice on where to go - as well as the famous Charter Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Cathedral has the tallest spire in the country, Stonehenge is nearby and there are festivals to be enjoyed throughout the year.

Biddy Walker & Tim Chadsey:
- Salisbury is famous for its Cathedral and Close - a magnificent building in a beautiful setting. It also has the best original copy of Magna Carta, one of the most imporatant documents of modern democracy. Don't forget to explore to rest of our city.
- Stonehenge is only a 20 minute drive from us and must not be missed. If you don't want to drive there is an excellent bus tour that can include the Cathedral and Old Sarum (an iron age hill-fort and the original site of the Cathedral),
- Salisbury is host to a wonderful Festival of music and is very close to the Chalke Valley History Festival. The CVHF is a week of fascinating talks and demonstrations by historians with air displays by iconic planes including Spitfires and Mustangs.
- There are plenty of historic houses and gardens nearby including Wilton House, Old Wardour Castle and Mottisfont which has the National Rose Collection. We are ideally placed for visiting National Garden Scheme gardens in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire
- Salisbury has excellent restaurants and pubs so there is something for all tastes. We will be happy to advise you on where to go (and where to avoid!)
- Wiltshire has lovely countryside so a day walking or cycling along the paths and lanes is to be treasured. Or just get in your car and lose yourself in the quiet country roads - you're sure to be charmed by what you find.
