Nyth Fach - Self-catering cottage in Ceredigion
Nanternis, SA45 9RR, Ceredigion
Wales,
Regno Unito
Nyth Fach, or ‘Little Nest’, is a peaceful, romantic retreat for two. It's nearly three centuries old and has been lovingly restored, timber by timber, by owners Gary and Jane. There are eggs from the hens, logs for the fire and you're left freshly baked bara brith or Welsh cakes.
A traditional hooded fireplace is the heart of the cottage; a hand-built wooden staircase leads up to the ‘Crog Loft’, a cosy bedroom nestled under the eaves. Downstairs there's a neat little kitchen with plenty of space to cook together. In the modern bathroom there’s a Jacuzzi shower and underfloor heating keeps the tiles toasty.
The sea glints in the distance, the coast path is close and there are quiet coves to discover. Lose yourself in a good book, meet the friendly alpacas or retreat to the bird hide – you may spot a heron. From your little courtyard garden you see the sun setting over Cardigan Bay, before returning indoors to read by the fire.
