It's as neat as a pin and very pretty inside, so even if it's raining you'll feel cosy indoors with the wood-burner blazing (logs supplied from the estate) and plenty of books, maps and games, or a smart telly. Views through the little windows are very rural and there are lots of footpaths for walkers nearby, or you can wander up through acres of the estate for wonderful views of the Brecon Beacons.
Two sweet, simple bedrooms have deep mattresses, feather and down pillows and duvets, Welsh blankets and nice views. The shower room is in the middle – spruce, shining and warm. The kitchen is a good size, you eat at an antique table and you'll find all the kit you need for cooking along with tea, coffee and milk. The Felin Fach Griffin is 15 minutes in the car if you want to eat out.
Cyclists will love the smooth, quiet roads. Serious walkers will head to the Beacons for hill climbing, waterfalls and sublime views.

- The Brecon Beacons offer the most incredible opportunity to walk, hike and explore the National Park – we're just 5.6 miles from the famous ‘Pen y Fan’ and ‘Corn Du’ which is a moderately easy walk with good paths maintained by The National Trust.
- We're perfectly located for the Hay Festival. Hay-On-Wye is a beautiful place to visit with its famous bookshops, the newly renovated castle and a great choice of cafes and shops – 25 minutes/14.5 miles.
- The stunning 4 Waterfalls Walk is an absolute must – 30 minute drive/19 miles. A coastal walk at Rhossili Beach is a glorious day out, fabulous to swim, walk and fly a kite! 1hr 45 mins/65 miles.
- We have the most incredible walks all around Glan Honddu, guests are welcome to enjoy our beautiful parkland, farmland and woods. Pen y Crug is on our doorstep, an easy 1 hour walk directly from The Lodge, enjoy stunning 360 degree views at the summit!
- Glan Honddu is situated on the banks of the River Honddu – trout fishing is available during the season.
- Cradoc Golf Course and Driving Range is a mile away - a fantastic course run by a very experienced and welcoming team.
