River Cottage - Self-catering in Powys
Melin y Graig, Foel, Welshpool, SY21 0PD, Powys
Wales,
Regno Unito
The cottage is attached to the back of the main mill house which dates from around 1850. Downstairs is colourful and cosy with beams, slate flagstones, very comfy sofas, smart TV, a wood-burning stove and lovely views of the garden from the pretty window seat. The kitchen tucks in niftily under a huge beam and has everything you need for cooking, along with some basics to get cracking and a few local goodies.
Sleep soundly in the light, bright, well-proportioned bedroom, decorated with thought and flair – all you will hear is the gurgle of the river and birdsong. Find waffle gowns in the shower room. There's a generous patio with table for outdoor dining, a grass area with streams and ponds running through it – at different times of year you'll see ducks with their ducklings, kingfishers, dippers, herons and songbirds.
Llangadfan, two miles, has a pub which is fine for a pint and fish and chips.
