The Courtyard Wing at Penpont - Self-catering house in Powys
Penpont, Brecon, LD3 8EU, Powys
Wales,
Regno Unito
Step through the courtyard of the main house to your own wing with a bright and cosy upstairs sitting room – underfloor heating keeps you warm on the chilliest days – a big open-plan kitchen and a chunky farmhouse table for memorable meals.
Children will adore the winding wooden stairs, corridors and landings – just the ticket for hide and seek, while grown ups will enjoy the space. Bedrooms, two on the first floor and four on the second, are bright with lovely views – they share three simple bathrooms with an extra loo downstairs. On balmy days you'll be outside – the estate is rooted in regeneration, so you'll spot much nature, including kingfishers and otters.
Eat al fresco or have a barbecue on your private terrace, light the firepit and on clear nights you'll be stargazing. This is a fabulous, unfussy place with a small farm shop selling homegrown organic treats from veg to beef. Walks in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park will be sublime.
