This beautifully restored old farmhouse is surrounded by meadows, forest and peaceful gardens. Cees and Jakob, who used to run a cookery school, live on site and are warm and convivial hosts.
Breakfast is traditional French and served at your own table in the dining room or on the veranda: fresh bread, croissants, homemade jams, juice and fruit, plus extras such as eggs, local cheeses, charcuterie, bacon, smoked salmon or yogurt. Jakob will also produce dinner by request using home-grown fruit and veg and wine from their extensive cellar; they'll happily ply you with drinks and snacks too.
Find your own space in the garden to read or doze, walk to the village (20 minutes) for a spot of not-very-many-people watching or order a picnic hamper and head off on marked trails. You need to drive to good restaurants, weekly markets and medieval villages.
