Stay in a celebrated French author’s holiday home, beautifully restored and tucked among pines next to one of Brittany's loveliest bays

Few places come with a literary pedigree like this one. Colette spent her summers here, wrote here and set Le Blé en Herbe among these pines and sandy coves, and something of her still remains in the bones of the house. Classic and unpretentious, the kitchen still has its original tiles and shelving. Now paired with modern equipment, there’s space for several cooks to work comfortably.

Upstairs, three bedrooms with king size beds have sea views from every window. The living and dining room invites you to relax, with a fireplace, classic Togo sofas and carefully curated artwork. French windows open onto a gravelled terrace where you’ll find sun loungers, a generous table and more of those incredible views to the sea.

Expect long, easy evenings here, whether that means sharing a meal outside as the light fades or gathering around the fire indoors playing board games and listening to music on the record player.

Colette and RozVen Discover the landscapes that inspired Colette’s The Ripening Seed: La Touesse beach, Le Meinga, the dunes, rocks and great tides. RozVen was her Breton retreat from 1910 to 1926.
