You'll feel like you've stepped back in time in this beautiful Burgundian village: cobbled streets and mellow rose-clad stone buildings are wrapped in peaceful countryside. And you get to stay in a gorgeous medieval house, built above ancient arches and reached by a red wooden door. Inside it's homely and inviting, an easy place to be with its own slice of garden.
Embrace village life. Visit the bakery for your morning baguette and croissants, the butcher for some local cuts to cook later, picnic on the banks of the river Serein - you can swim here too. Hop in the car to other swimming spots, châteaux, the Cistercian Fontenay Abbey, hilltop towns and villages. You can also walk or cycle from the door.
Snuggle up under wonky old beams in the glorious library, pop your fresh cheese on the raclette, play games or sit out in the pretty courtyard glass in hand. Retire to comfy bedrooms, the master has an ensuite, both have garden views.

Local points of interest from Lee Humphreys & Mathilde Delamotte:
Punti d'interesse locali da
Lee Humphreys & Mathilde Delamotte:
- A ruined castle, crumbling towers, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses, charming riverside walks and restaurants - that's Noyers, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France. And Le Clos Couvert is right in the heart of it.
- Medieval stuff aside, 4 restaurants, 2 épiceries, a bistro, a butcher, and a newsagent are literally just a few steps from the front door As are the local crafts shops (leather, pottery, wood ...), galeries and antique shops ... and a museum.
- The region is crawling with castles (Ancy le Franc, Tanlay, Bussy-Rabutin, Maulnes ...) and abbeys, notably Fontenay (UNESCO). Not to mention Vezelay (UNESCO yet again), and a plethora of fortified hilltop towns (Avallon, Montréal, Semur-en-Auxois ...)
- Fed up with fortifications? Try the Morvan, 35 minutes away, an astonishing wooded wilderness with river valleys and several large lakes where you can go swimming and boating, followed by dinner in a lakeside restaurant. An area ideal for walkers.
- Wine? Noyers has its own (ask at the butchers). Chablis is 20 minutes away. St Bris (delicious white) is even closer. Local reds come from Irancy (beautiful village in the hills) and Coulanges. For big reds you can head down south to Beaune
- Young children? Noyers has a play area and paddling in the village river. Nearby there are grottoes (Arcy, Le Champ Retard) and a charming little train (Massangis). And you'll all enjoy Guedelon, where they are building a huge stone castle by hand.
