This is a peaceful corner of the Aveyron, famously fertile and home of one of the best cattle breeds for beef - Aubrac. Inside is large, warm, filled with an interesting collection of furniture and artwork and with tall windows with views over the park and the countryside beyond. A vast stone spiral staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms - the doubles bigger than the twins - but all a good size with very comfortable beds.
Outside you have a hectare of parkland to discover, mainly laid to lawn and mature trees, with several places to sit and eat in sunshine or shade. The pool is big enough for laps, there's a barbecue, pizza oven, volleyball, badminton and pétanque, but for those who wish to escape with a book there's also plenty of space. Cooking in the big kitchen will be easy - cooks will find all they need plus a hamper of local market finds.
Most days you can visit a market yourselves and pick up superb fresh food and regional wines.

- Start your holiday with a visit to the charming Sunday morning market in Villeneuve. This small market is beloved by locals - have a coffee (or a glass of wine!) in Les Arcades and watch the world go by.
- Peyrusse le Roc is a 10 minute drive away. A beautiful medieval village with dramatic ruins. Great for walks and there is a brocante, art gallery and cafe open on Sundays (and more often during the summer - check with me!)
- I love brocantes and vide greniers and there are plenty to visit. Check out the website vide-greniers.org or check with me. It's worth getting there early to beat the dealers!
- For garden lovers a visit to Jardin de la Mothe in Salles Courbaties is a must. Marion has created a stunning garden over the last twenty years - there are photos showing the original open fields. Now the garden is filled with drought tolerant plants.
- The Aveyron is famous for its produce and there are some excellent restaurants in the area, but many guests love to relax in the castle in the evening and the local butcher is great for barbeques. You can also try our new Ooni pizza oven!
- Naturally some guests find it hard to leave the castle! Whether you want to lounge by the pool, play a game of petanque, find a cosy spot to read or relax under the stars in the hot tub the castle backdrop makes for a memorable holiday!
