Lovely and ancient farm buildings on a working vineyard with white walls, wooden beams, good art and comfortable beds. They're completely unpretentious and, to some, fairly basic but their very simplicity is their appeal. Jean Paul Sartre is all on one level with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a table for four in the wonderful, expansive gardens. Gîte De Belvoir is an adorable building in the centre of the courtyard with just one bedroom upstairs, a shower room and tiny kitchen.
The kitchen in Jean Paul Sartre is fully equipped and there's plenty of space for prepping – you'll find olive oil, coffee and a bottle of local rosé waiting. The gardens are wonderful with a sun terrace around the pool and lots of nooks and crannies in the woods, meadows and vineyards – children can run about happily and safely as long as they can swim as the pool is unfenced.
Take long walks, play ping-pong or badminton, try your hand at painting in the studio, unwind.

- Surfing at HOSEGOR beach, situated on the Atlantic coast which runs from the south of Brittany down to the Spanish border.
- Lourdes is about one and a half hours from the house.
