Gîte de Rossignol at Château de Séguenville - Self-catering house in Haute-Garonne
Chateau de Seguenville
1 Soureillan du Château, 31480 Cabanac-Séguenville, Haute-Garonne
Midi - Pyrénées,
Francia
It's peaceful here, deep in the countryside beside the 17th-century château, with sweeping views over fields and the snow-capped mountains. Sitting on the terrace for a morning cup of tea or a sundowner will be uplifting. A well thought-out kitchen, large and light, is a grand space for all to sit and chat or help with the cooking and you'll find basics in the cupboards plus a welcome hamper of local food and wine.
Bedrooms (one downstairs with its own shower room and doors to the terrace) are calm and uncluttered; bathrooms have mood lighting, tiptop showers and underheated cosy stone floors. Up the chunky oak staircase is a huge L-shaped living area with warm brickwork, exposed A-beams and plenty of windows for that view. Outside you'll find a small lawned area and you have the use of the owners' swimming pool.
Spend lazy days indoors, head off for long walks, relish the tranquillity.

Local points of interest from Rebekah Jamieson:
Punti d'interesse locali da
Rebekah Jamieson:
- Located in the heart of the countryside, our Gite is perfect for cyclists, equestrians, walkers, photographers and painters. But equally peaceful for those who just want to soak in the ever changing scenery, especially the glorious mountains and sunflowers
- COX has a pottery museum, an annual market and CADOURS is famous for its purple garlic as well as Chateau Lareole. The melons of Lectoure are amazing when in season and the town has a fascinating centre including the Brocante shops in la vieille Hôpital
- Dining options - the Bistro at Brignemont is a short walk away or options vary from Cox’s Pizzeria and restaurant and Fadoas O Bon Vivant to dining in Cadours and Cologne to the delicate patisseries.
- Once surrounded by vineyards, the commune is now agricultural but the Caves de Saint Sardos are well worth a visit. An hour west of the Gite lies the Armagnac region, Pousse Rapier and the wines of Saint Mont
- Water Sports and lake bathing are plentiful - St Criq, Beaumont de Lomagne and Saint Clar to name just a few options. A day trip to the beaches near Narbonne or a stroll down the Canal du Midi brings in a fascinating change of scenery.
- Under an hour away are the amazing Capitale in Toulouse and the Cathedral in Auch, or the Foie Gras of the Gers. It is also a straight run to Pic du Midi in the Pyrenees (for skiing, hiking or the observatory).
