The long, wide salon glows with sunlight and colour, books, flowers and paintings; it is the heart of this family 'manoir' and from here a wide dining terrace looks down on the gardens; choose a spot under the old persimmon, by the fountain or the hammock slung between the chestnut trees. Gaze at magnificent sunsets and views to the far distant Pyrenees.
Quietly elegant bedrooms have a well-loved feel. Antique furniture sits on parquet and cool terracotta; fabrics are vintage-inspired and there are charming artworks. The extra two bedrooms are in the cottage and share a bathroom. There's room for everyone to cook together in the cheerful kitchen – settle at the big pine kitchen table, or beneath the wisteria-wound pergola.
You can brush up your table tennis, try your hand at boules or simply flop into the heated pool. The surrounding countryside is covered in orchards, there are splendid walks from the door and markets to explore.
