Bubbly Nathalie loves to cook and gives you breakfast in the high-ceilinged dining room or on the terrace it overlooks. You choose from a menu the night before: yogurts, cheeses, locally-made organic jams, eggs in any style, fresh fruit salad and pastries, cake and breads. Also Kusmi, Yogi and iced teas. Relax afterwards under a parasol by the large lawn with herbaceous borders and many roses climbing both up the house and the mature trees.
The suite has twin beds in one room and a double in the other, sharing a bathroom and a private sitting room. The other bedroom has a sitting area in the room and all have enormous mahogany beds from Indonesia, antiques and views; locally-made soaps and lotions scent the bathrooms. It's quiet too with only birdsong and the odd car passing the high stone walls.
Walk into Ducey for a couple of good traditional restaurants or join a section of the Paris to Mont Saint-Michel Voie Verte.
