Big bedrooms with views lie upstairs and down...this 1800s farmhouse has had an immaculate makeover. Who’d guess it had been occupied by troops in WW2 and that the barn had been a hospital? Now there’s chess in the lounge, logs in the burner, and books in every corner. All feels fresh, light and inviting.
Visit the shops and coffee bars of quaint Sainte-Mère-Église and the unspoilt beaches of the Cotentin Peninsula. From yachtie Saint-Vaast (30km), take the amphibious bus to Tatihou, the breezy isle of giant gulls. Return to sociable table d’hôtes and gorgeous French food: David has a passion for cooking.
