La Maison de Piolon - Gîte des Tilleuls - Self-catering house in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence
128 Route de Saint-Roch, 84340 Beaumont-du-Ventoux, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence
Provence - Alps - Riviera,
Francia
Named after the magnificent linden trees that grace the courtyard (a delightful spot to sip a chilled glass of wine in the evening) the cottage was converted from an 1800s farmhouse. With its own entrance leading to the pool and plant-filled gardens, it feels wonderfully private.
One person can get busy in the compact kitchen cooking a Provencal feast while the rest of you chat around the dining table or relax in the comfy lounge. You can DIY breakfast or join the B&B guests for a continental spread. A three-course supper is served once a week, but Malaucène is just 2km away for a choice of restaurants - L'Atelier de Ferme is one of many recommended. Hire bikes if you’d rather pedal than drive.
Upstairs, two neat bedrooms overlook the courtyard. Both are dressed in good linens and share a bright yellow 1970s-style bathroom with a tub and shower. As the sun sets, sit out on your semi-private terrace and gaze across fields of lavender.
