This genteel old place, once a sheepfold, has been in Xavier's family since the 1850s. It's set high on a hill above the seaside resort of Golfe-Juan and has a two-tiered terrace extension overlooking the garden with wonderful views down to the coast.
Two bedrooms are in the main house and another two are in a separate attached building with a private terrace and external entrance. The farmhouse-style kitchen has all the mod-cons you need and has a table big enough to dine all together, or you can eat on the adjoining terrace or by the pool.
It's utterly peaceful here: you can see cars moving along the coast road but it's like watching a silent film. The large garden isn't overlooked, and a stepped path leads past olive groves, some thought to be 500-700 years old and planted originally by local monks who lived on nearby Ile Saint-Honorat, as well as giant palms, lemon trees and cacti.
