Mounto Davalo - Self-catering house in Var
2 Escourcho de Parlo
Soulet, 83230 Bormes-les-Mimosas, Var
Provence - Alps - Riviera,
Francia
Just below a ruined medieval castle in the oldest part of the village, the house has 12th-century roots. It's a family home with nooks for reading one of the many books in the library, or writing in the study and lots of steps, staircases and landings. The master bedroom on the first floor is spacious and airy with a great view, the others are a floor above and smaller with beams but there are sea views from all.
Meals in the terraced garden are under a riot of subtropical flowers and trees, with birdsong by day and cigales on summer evenings - no traffic noise. The kitchen is well equipped and on the first floor next to the dining area. Shops, bars, a weekly market, good restaurants (and tourists) are a 10-minute walk along narrow streets with vaulted arches.
Spend happy days at stunning sandy beaches (15 minutes by car) with a picnic, or wander round lively marinas spotting yachts.
