For seekers of garden peace, for champagne and architecture buffs… A leafy retreat from crazed Paris, this gorgeous home is cool, quiet and stylishly homely. Its 200-year-old origins are celebrated: limewash, timbers, country antiques, a gathering of books. Bedrooms have pretty colours, vintage linen and patchwork charm, the adorable cottage (with kitchen) is ideal for a longer stay. Véronique makes jams and offers pâtisserie courses; she's happy to spend time chatting over apéritifs and dinner is a choice of three menus, finishing with local cheeses and homemade desserts. Champagne vineyards and historic Provins are nearby.
