A beautifully converted building, part of an old mill, now a gorgeous place to stay with the stream running through and shared parkland

Another gem of architectural heritage preserved and improved by Pierres d'Histoire in their inimitable understated style. Your bright, open-plan space has comfy seating, a wooden table for convivial meals and a very well-equipped kitchen. Stride out into the grounds, swim in the pool, visit the spa (you need to book and pay extra) or get hearty in the sports court.

Two bedrooms have crisp cotton sheets and en suite bathrooms with organic soaps and lotions. You're surrounded by lush greenery but it's under an hour to Paris. There are lovely walks and cycles in the forest and if you take one of the other gîtes (there is even a connecting one) you can come as a bigger party.

The whole place has been designed as a wellness retreat and hideaway for families or couples. Restful to spend evenings in your own outdoor seating area with a glass of local wine while the children play.
