Shaded by wind-rushed birches is this upstairs-downstairs little chalet – light and bright and stylish with country furniture and modern checks. Downstairs is open plan: a roundly rustic dining table, a snug shower room, and a kitchen with pottery and timeless pine. In the cosy living area, prints hang on the timber walls and a floor-to-ceiling window looks onto the garden.
Up the wooden spiral staircase is the main bedroom with its balcony and magnificent mountain views; kids love the mezzanine with its ladder to two single mattresses. Outside in the garden, roses clamber up wooden walls, geraniums fill window boxes.
The centre of Chamonix is reached in minutes for outdoorsy shopping and summer festivals. The little red rack and pinion railway chugs you up to Montenvers for views of the Mer de Glace; head higher, and you can step ‘into the void’ at the Aiguille du Midi.

- Enjoy the hot tub! When you feel like it, Chamonix is a bustling Alpine town surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Winter or summer, there is so much to do - Mont Blanc provides the backdrop to incredible adventure.
- From Mazot Les Tines there are some beautiful walks along the river Arve, or up to the Petit Balcon which runs along the middle of the valley. In summer there is a pony riding centre close by.
- The little mountain train stops at Les Tines. The service runs up and down the valley to several ski areas, or further afield into Switzerland.
- Italy is a short bus or car ride away, through the Mont Blanc tunnel. Chamonix sits at the border of France, Italy and Switzerland.
- The valley has some stunning restaurants to enjoy - from local Savoyarde to 1 and 2* Michelin menus, there is an amazing variety of good places to eat.
