This charming house was originally one of the outbuildings of Rebecca and Tim's B&B, Château de la Ruche, and has been cleverly restored and furnished with antique and flea market finds.
Find a welcome hamper with local goat's cheese, honey, biscuits and local wine. Rebecca is the chef at the B&B and has given a lot of thought to the kitchen from a cook's perspective, making it a joy to cook in; eat around the farmhouse table or on the dining terrace in your own private bit of the garden. Explore the parkland and woods of the estate, row on the lake or settle on a window seat in either of the large bedrooms for dreamy views over the lake to the main house.
Food and wine lovers can visit fabulous markets and tour the vineyards of Saumur, Anjou and Touraine; if antiques are your thing Rebecca can point you to gorgeous brocante fairs. Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei, voted one of the most beautiful villages in France, is only 15 minutes' drive away.

- The bustling market in Place des Jacobins by the Cathedral in Le Mans on Wednesday and Sunday mornings and all day on Friday is a must for food lovers. Sit and watch the world go by at one of the cafes on the square too.
- Stroll through the ancient streets of the Plantagenet cité of Old Town Le Mans - up the steps beside the cathedral - which you must also visit. Perfect for history lovers, especially if the Tudors are your thing. Wear flat shoes because cobblestones abound
- Explore the beautiful Alpes Mancelles – winding country roads, beautiful countryside and gorgeous French villages. With plenty of restaurants, cafes and art galleries to explore. Great for walkers and cyclists.
- Car lovers can lose a day exploring the Le Mans 24hr Museum at the world-famous racetrack. Bring your fancy car with you (we have lots of secure off-street parking) and treat yourself to a track day.
- Many of the Loire Valley châteaux, as well as the beautiful towns and vineyards of Saumur, Tours and Angers are just an hour from our Petit Château - the perfect day trip for wine lovers and Château hunters.
