Both have well-equipped kitchens, neat bathrooms and wood provided for the fires. A cook can be rustled up in advance and the housekeeper is always on hand.
The gardens, filled with fragrant roses in late spring, are a delight. Smooth lawns, herbaceous borders and mature trees provide the backdrop for long summer evenings eating outdoors under the covered veranda, lighting the barbecue, watching the sun go down. Walks are plentiful along quiet country roads or in the Blackstairs and Wicklow mountains.
