A fascinating little B&B in the peaceful medieval Jewish quarter of Trastevere. Floor-to-ceiling shelves heave under the weight of books in the red drawing room, gorgeous pieces of art and sculpture beautify walls and tables, and floors are laid with exquisite parquet; there’s plenty of dark wood and every square inch gleams.
The convivial oval dining table awaits guests eager to sample Gianna’s delicious breakfasts with homemade jams and lots of chatter. Bedrooms, reached through a guest sitting room, have bold flowers, handsome bedsteads and great little bathrooms, while the best have miniature staircases up to private terraces with views that roll down over the terracotta patchwork of Trastevere’s tiny roofs and fascinating web of streets.
Head off across the Tiber to Circo Massimo, the Rome Rose Garden, Palatine hill, the Colosseum and Forum – you're walking distance from almost everything in the city.

- Trastevere is the most characteristic area of Rome and there are lot's of restaurant and pubs for any taste and pocket from simple traditional "Trattorie" to some very good sea food place.
- The river is less than 100 meters far from our B&B and it helps a lot when you have to come back after a long day around in the city
- All the main sights are at a walking distance but in the evening when you'll come back you'll enjoy the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of a little village
- The side of Trastevere is still an authentic area and not touristy
- It's a pleasure to be back in a quiet side of the city after a long day walking through the main busy sights

"This was a delightful place to stay. Marco and his wife and staff were very warm and hospitable. Marco talks to all his guests over a delicious breakfast (including his wonderful home-made jam), taking a great interest in how they would like to spend their day. He suggests interesting places to visit apart from the well-known attractions of Rome, and also recommends local restaurants. Trastevere is a wonderful area. It has a wonderful atmosphere, good restaurants and is within easy walking distance of the centre of Rome. We very much enjoyed crossing the Tiber each morning and evening. "

"This is one of those gems you find every now and then. It’s a quirky little B&B situated in the less touristy part of the area which is both convenient and quiet. The room itself was pleasantly furnished with some tasteful bric-a-brac, air conditioning and a good sized terrace. The owners, Marco and Gianna, are an absolute delight and could not be more welcoming or more helpful. Marco knows all the local restaurants and will help plan your trips into Rome suggesting sites off the tourist routes that are just wonderful. Our next trip to Rome, accommodation is already chosen. A treasure."

"We had a delightful stay at the Acro de Tolomei over a snow-filled weekend in Rome. Marco was warm, welcoming and a very useful and willing source of information. The guest house is in a fantastic location for exploring the whole of Rome whether day or night. The room was very spacious and comfortable - history speaking from the walls - and even a balcony that begged for more attention than the weather would allow. Highly recommend and will be giving Marco a call when next in town."

"We stayed at this bed and breakfast in December 2010 and found Marco and his staff plus his four legged little helper to be the perfect hosts. He helped us organise our visit to make the most of our time, by booking our tickets or giving suberb directions and info. We found the Travestere area to be a great place to stay and enjoyed meals at places Marco suggested. We enjoyed walking around the area at night away from the main hustle and bustle of the main tourist area's. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone travelling to Rome."

"We were completely delighted with this recommendation. The location is excellent - within easy reach of all the central sites yet in an area which feels wholly authentic that hasn't given way to tourism. The rooms are comfortable (with good beds) and like visiting someone's house. A more welcoming and helpful host than Marco is hard to imagine."
