You’d be forgiven for just staying put on your terrace, by - and in - the pool; nature matters here: listen to the bees enjoying Rosanna’s garden, orchard and vines; arrange a light, home-grown lunch, let the children slide, swing, play table tennis. Get together in the evenings for a barbecue or wander down the road for a pizza.
But then, there are horses to be ridden and golf to be played at the bottom of the hill; nearby beaches to bathe from, the palmed promenade and cafés of Portofino to enjoy, and Rapallo’s harbours and castle. Genova’s only half an hour away; buses to the Cinque Terre go three times a day.
You could spend hiking days in the magnificent Parco Naturale Regionale di Portofino; a steeply rewarding 90-minute walk from the villa takes you to Santuario di Caravaggio for more magnificent views and perfect for a picnic.
