A short drive from the port city of Ancona, this 1970s house, with a flourishing back garden fringed by mature trees and glittering sea views over the Adriatic, has an easy-going feel. Antiques, artworks and family furniture all tell a story, and you can spread out in comfort in the large sitting room, enjoy the view from the dining room, borrow a book from the library, watch a DVD or play board games.
Lounge on the grassy lawn, knock some table tennis balls around or fire up the barbecue - it's set up near the shady patio. You'll probably eat long, lazy meals out here while you plan your trip to the beach. There are two within a 20-minute walk, lively Passetto city beach and a hidden gem, Baffo, dominated by sheer cliffs.
Return for an Aperol Spritz on the patio and deep sleeps in your relaxing bedroom; three are ensuite, one has a bath and those on the first floor get sea views.
