Tucked in the arches of the old wine cellar, the onsite restaurant Agriò Agriosteria serves typical Tuscan cuisine. Sink into a comfy armchair by the open fireplace in the shared living room, with a glass of wine and a book. The bar hosts wine tastings here; cool off in the pool or steam in the Turkish bath.
'Classic' rooms in the converted stables have shared patios with vineyard views. In the smart apartments in the main building, find family antiques and super showers under high, beamed ceilings. Each has a little kitchen where you can prepare a simple supper. Breakfasts of homemade cakes and bread are served under the garden gazebo.
There are bikes to rent – Marco recommends the panoramic circuit of Trasimeno. Drive out to Castiglione del Lago for splendid home cooking at Osteria Le Scalette, or take a picnic on a boat trip to the islands on the lake. Round the day off with a massage, and a glass of the estate's own Fanini wine.
