Middle Colenso Farm - Self-catering houses in Cornwall
Goldsithney, Penzance, TR20 9JB, Cornwall
England,
Regno Unito
Old Granary, Carter's Croft and Smugglers Lane all sit happily on the 18th-century farm (with much older roots) in a gloriously Cornish garden with gunnera, palms and other exotics. There's also a communal boules court and gazebo, an outdoor cold shower for sandy things and a Pilates and fitness studio you can book. Each cottage also has its own outdoor space, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room and a rustic, arty feel.
You'll find body boards and beach toys to borrow and it's a short hop to Praa Sands for wonderful days out whatever the weather – long winter walks, or breezy summer picnics. Sleep in well-dressed beds, wake to the sound of birdsong, book onto the Reading Party four nights or a dedicated menopause fitness retreat – these are fully catered.
Take all three places together for a grand reunion of family or friends, join the South West Coast Path for breathtaking walks and wildflowers in spring.

Local points of interest from Christen Pears:
Punti d'interesse locali da
Christen Pears:
- The wood-fired sauna is available for private hire to guests staying in any of the three cottages.
- Explore the historic market town of Marazion and iconic St Michael's Mount which are just a short drive away. Take a stroll down Penzance’s historic Chapel Street with its fascinating architecture, excellent shops and pubs. The iconic Art Deco Jubilee Pool
- Head over to the bustling former fishing town of St Ives, now an artistic hub and home to an offshoot of the Tate Gallery and the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden. Don't miss the Leach Pottery on the outskirts of town.
- Once the centre of one of Cornwall's greatest mining estates, nearby Godolphin is a truly magical place. Once you've explored the estate make the short walk up Godolphin Hill where, on a clear day, you can see both coasts.
- Put on your walking boots and get out and about on the South West Coast Path. Some of our favourite walks include the nearby stretch between Prussia Cove and Perranuthnoe and the spectacular route between Zennor and the Gurnard's Head.
- Take in a play at the Minack Theatre, carved out of the rocks above Porthcurno Beach. The beach is great for kids as is the nearby telegraph museum.
