Independence at one end of the house with your own sitting room opening onto a courtyard garden. Good pub for food a few minutes' walk away

Perhaps it’s the gentle, unstuffy attitude of Kate and Edward. Or the great position of the house with its glorious views across the Golden Valley. Whichever, you’ll feel comforted and invigorated by your stay in this family home. Kate is a keen gardener, swathes of white tulips flourish under trees heavy with white blossom and she is happy to show you round her cutting garden.

You feel nicely cocooned in the guest wing: a pretty bedroom above your own comfortable, book-filled sitting room opening to a flowery courtyard.  Sleep soundly on the softest of pillows, wake to deep countryside peace and a delicious breakfast. Kate brings in a tray piled high with different jars of cereals, a bowl of fruit, sometimes compote, yogurt, tasty bacon, home apple juice and eggs from the hens.

There's a profusion of inspiring gardens to visit; you can join the  Cotswold Trail from the door or borrow bikes; and the village pub does great food.

"A friendly welcome to a delightful place, where we stayed for three nights. Lovely garden and wonderful, peaceful surroundings. The accommodation is over two floors, and both the bedroom and the sitting room are comfortable and generously sized. No hesitation in recommending Well Farm equally to those new to the Cotswolds and to those returning."

"Staying at Well Farm is a real treat! Kate is a charming and generous hostess who cooks delicious breakfasts with eggs from her own hens and juice from her orchard. The accommodation is deluxe and spacious with a comfortable sitting room filled with interesting books and magazines and very pretty and well equipped bedroom and en suite bathroom. Everything has been thought of. Well Farm is conveniently located with wonderful walks, good shopping and two excellent pubs nearby. It is a delightful place to stay, we felt very priviledged, and we hope to return."

"A highly recommended place to stay! We had a lovely time at Well Farm during our spring escape to England. It was a luxury to have not only the large and cosy bedroom, but also a spacious sitting room with a fire, lots of books and local maps and two sofas to snuggle up on! Kate and Edward are wonderful hosts - hurry up with visiting Well Farm and you might still have the chance to meet Jaffa's the labrador's hilarious five puppies! "

"We had a lovely relaxing stay, booked at very short notice. It was wonderful to have our own private sitting room included, and two good pubs with great food nearby (we'd particularly recommend the Bell in Sapperton). Kate and Edward made us feel very welcome, as did Jaffa and Dot! Good home cooked breakfast too, plus gardening chat."

"Tranquil setting close to many great Cotswolds walks. Kate and Edward were fantastically hospitable and accommodating. The room is like a self-contained apartment with a large cozy sitting room and an elegant bedroom/bathroom upstairs. Village pub within walking distance with good reasonably priced food and a friendly atmosphere. "

"Well Farm is a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country. We enjoyed peace and tranquility and the comforts of home with a lovely big bedroom and bathroom and a comfortable sitting room with all we could wish for. Kate was extremely welcoming and kind and arranged supper for us at The Crown which was 2 minutes away and just what we wanted after walking all afternoon in Cider With Rosie country. Comfortable bed, beautifully laundered linen and stunning gardens. We have returned home eager to implement the ideas we picked up from Kate's inspirational garden."
