Why venture to Bali when paradise lies here? Seasoned travellers Jo and Nick have transported a slice of the Orient to their 'nest' in rural Suffolk. Within handsome oak barns they've laid out their treasures, from a romantic gatehouse for two to an opulent barn; each has its idiosyncratic style and private walled garden. Enter the Coach House through a terracotta-tiled kitchen to stumble upon the first of many Indonesian delights: rich red sofas, rugs, massive fireplace.
Upstairs are carved doors and walls a deep blue; centre stage: a cushion-strewn four-poster. The vaulted bedroom is a rich red, with a carved bedhead and glamorous textiles, and the en suites are little gems - thick white towels and bathrobes, glittering tiles, vibrant walls.
Halesworth has brilliant butchers and grocers, there's a pub 20 minutes by foot and the sparkling sea at Southwold - seven miles. You can even hire the owners' beach hut for the day.

- Beach Hut available in nearby Southwold between April & October! It's near the Pier which has got to be the zaniest funkiest Pier in the country and a great place for a bracing walk even in the Winter!
- This area is Foodie Heaven what with all the Produce Markets, Farm Shops, seasonal Food Fairs, proper Butcher shops in all the towns around and famous delis not to mention fresh fish straight off the boats .
- Suffolk may not be famous for hills but that makes it all the better for walking! There's loads of paths along the coast and through the countryside, heath and forest. Plenty of wildlife and birds.
- You're spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out - from award-winning public houses to posh restaurants; downhome pub grub to the best fish & chips in the country!
- We're perfectly placed for coast, country & town. Quiet &rural it may be but not inconvenient as there's a village pub & shop and the nearest market town, with all facilities, is only 2 miles away.
