Corylus - Fjord - Self-catering house in Highland
Braes, Ullapool, IV26 2SZ, Highland
Scotland,
Regno Unito
Ceilings are high, windows are wide and nothing indoors interferes with your ever-shifting views – clean lines, natural wood and clever lighting give gentle permission for the magnificence of the landscape to permeate, you'll find it hard not to stare. The living space is bright and airy with a nifty kitchen to the side, a table in the window and a sliding door to decking for al fresco meals and views over the loch towards Ullapool, where the ferry and little boats chug in and out.
Two double bedrooms (one can be a twin) have inviting beds, lots of storage, excellent reading lights, those fabulous vistas, and swish bathrooms (one with a walk-in shower, the other with an L-shaped tub with shower over) with thick fluffy towels and Miniml soaps and lotions. You'll feel cossetted.
Set off on a gentle half-hour stroll to Ullapool or tackle some hill climbs, cycle, swim; explore gardens, caves and historical sites, discover dreamy beaches.

Local points of interest from Samuel Planterose:
Punti d'interesse locali da
Samuel Planterose:
- Ullapool Hill: Walk straight from the door onto Ullapool Hill for wide views over Loch Broom, Ullapool and the surrounding mountains. A rewarding local walk and a lovely way to get your bearings.
- Rhue Lighthouse: A beautiful short outing beyond Ullapool, especially in the evening. Follow the path towards the lighthouse for sea views, changing light over the Summer Isles and a memorable west coast sunset.
- Ardmair Beach: A peaceful pebble beach north of Ullapool, ideal for a quiet wander, a picnic, or a refreshing wild swim at high tide. A special and accessible local spot with beautiful views across the water.
- Achmelvich and Clachtoll: Two of the north-west coast’s most beautiful beaches, with pale sand, clear water and dramatic rocky edges. Make a day of it with a pie from Lochinver Larder or a meal at Delilah’s.
- Stac Pollaidh and Assynt: Head north into Assynt for some of Scotland’s most distinctive mountain scenery. Stac Pollaidh is a classic short hill walk, with extraordinary views across lochs, peaks and coastline.
- Local guide and host knowledge: Guests receive a comprehensive digital guidebook after booking. We are keen local outdoors people and are happy to share in-person tips, routes and recommendations during your stay.
