An 18th-century wine property in its listed 'Jardin Remarkable' – herbaceous borders tumble with roses and peonies in summer, paths meander through immaculate lawns, there are mature trees for shade and ponds full of lilies for gazing. The gardens are so delightful they are open to the public.
Two spacious suites, one on the ground floor with three double bedrooms and a large bathroom, one upstairs with two bedrooms, a large sitting room and bathroom, have lovely green views. A shared swimming pool surrounded by loungers is lovely for sunbathing then cooling off.
Wake to breakfasts in the dining room or outdoors on clement days: homemade pastries and crêpes, home-produced jams, honey from their bees, eggs from the hens, local cheeses and charcuterie. Dinner is available on request, with wine at an extra price and there are good restaurants within 8km. There are exhibitions of floral paintings in the summer months.
