Bump down the rough track and stretching out before you is the glorious rocky coastline and the steep peaks of the Corsican mountains - at night the lights of far off villages twinkle in the distance. It's blissfully rural and you'll spend all your time outdoors either cooling off in the pool, bubbling in the jacuzzi, enjoying the lush garden or exploring the island.
There are three suites in the house, all with their own sitting rooms and terraces, and one has an extra outdoor bed open to the skies on a private terrace, with a safari tent to duck into in case it rains (a rare event).
Kitchenettes are amply equipped, but if you're feeling lazy you can ask in advance for breakfasts or for Isabelle (who lives on site) to prepare dinner for you. A 20-minute walk takes you to the coast where you'll find a sandy cove for swimming and sun bathing.
