The multi-level mellow stone edifice on the side of the hill is utterly inviting. Find five spacious bedrooms and an apartment with a private terrace looking out over the garden. All are different with original terracotta floors, hand-finished plaster, exposed beams and colourful bedspreads. Spoiling bathrooms have hand-painted tiles.
There's a large salon on the first floor, lined with books in English and French and with comfortable armchairs to sink into – a good spot after dinner with brandy. Breakfasts are served in the restaurant with its vast windows looking out over the valley: viennoiseries, homemade bread and butter, cake, yogurts, charcuterie and cheeses. Lunch and dinner favour local produce and regional wines, all beautifully presented – chef Bastien uses his homegrown vegetables and herbs.
Find your own quiet space in the garden with a book, float in the saltwater pool, breathe fresh air and enjoy the peace.
